Linux Programming White Papers
This is a really old book and I haven’t been able to find a newer edition. It was pretty good and you may still get some value out of it but Linux changes so quickly that you would almost certainly be better served by picking up something newer or finding an online source of information. This book was published back in 1999. It is pretty much ancient. Some of the concepts may still be valid but most of it will be so far out of date that you really shouldn’t read it at this point.
This book covers things like kernel architecture. This includes things like memory management, virtual file systems, networking, and other kernel subsystems. It also covers everything from I/O port programming to graphical programming. It is has tons of diagrams and charts that are also helpful.
Overall this is a terrific book with lots of great information about a huge variety of Linux programming topics but it is super old and really not somthing you should read today in 2023 ( or whenever you read this page ).
