Kernel Projects for Linux - Gary Nutt
This is a really old book also very good. It is probably a bit too outdated and I probably wouldn’t pick it up now. At the time it was great. It covers a bunch of different Linux kernel projects that you can work on. It will probably be most useful if you have some background knowlege of the kernel. This book isn’t specifically meant to teach you the basics of operating systems or the kernel. It is meant to lead you through specific projects with will help you build your skills. You would probably want to be familiar with Linux and with operating system fundamentals before looking at this book.
