Pop!_OS

Originally I thought that Pop! OS was just another trendy Ubuntu clone with a fresh theme. It turns out that I was wrong. It is so much more than that. It was created by System76 to address the shortcomings of Gnome and Ubuntu. When Ubuntu transitioned away from Unity System76 needed an alternative OS to ship with their systems.

Pop! OS is shipped with a number of improvements and tweaks to make things easier and more convenient for the user. Much effort was put into making the desktop easy and fast to use. Shortcuts and tweaks were added for productivity. This eventually resulted in the creation of a new desktop environment based on Gnome called Cosmic. They have plans to replace this with another desktop built from scratch.
