ELEGOO Mars 2 - MSLA 3D Printer
Mars 2 and 2 pro have a faster layer cure time when compared to older models but spend much of the time doing other things like moving the head. They are still faster but not as much as you would think. They are still great though.
The Mars 2 is faster than the older models. It is also just as fast as the Mars 2 Pro and it offers the same quality because both models basically have th e same key parts.
Key features that set it appart:
- Plastic resin vat ( Mars 2 Pro has metal )
- Smaller build volume than the Mars 2 Pro
- Doesn’t include filtration features of the Mars 2 Pro
- Faster than older models
- Less expensive than the Mars 2 Pro
Many people see this as being a better value than the Mars 2 Pro. It has the same speed, quality, and important features. The only feature that are missing are generally seen as less important.
Mono LCD:
- faster
- more accurate
- lasts longer

ELEGOO Mars 2 - Third Party Review
The ELEGOO Mars 2 is another model from the Mars 3D printer series. The company is known for its budget-friendly printers, and these models keep to that. With no huge differences from its predecessors, there are still some improvements. In this article, you will see the features of this model. Some of its pros and cons, and finally a conclusion about Mars 2.
Features
Once more, let’s start with the design. It is one of the most noticeable changes on the outside. The Mars 2 3printer includes a GREEN, yes, GREEN UV-protective acrylic hood. Aside from looking slick, the printer keeps its compact build. As with the previous ones, the volume build is not great.
When it comes to printing, this machine has a lot to offer for its price. Being able to produce fast prints with high quality is something that ELEGOO Mars 2 can do. As you know, the printer is a monochrome LCD. For those who have been 3D printing for some time, that means fast printing. I will not go into too much detail about this, but here is a brief overview. In short, the panels of these 3printers allow more light to pass through. That is why the curring occurs faster. That is the main difference between this LCD model and the previous RGB ones.
Another of the features which Mars 2 has is that, differently from its predecessors, Mars 2 switches to a 6.08-inch masking LCD. That is a significant improvement over the previous 5.8.
Other than this, the ELEGOO Mars 2 has a slightly larger building plate. That is important as, although they kept the model compact, the company increased the plate size by about 10mm on both the X and Y-axis. Thus, the print volume of this machine is 129 x 80 x 150 mm. Although you get more space on the X and Y axis, the Z-axis gets the same 10mm but less.
Let’s talk about the vat. In this model, you can see that instead of metal. They use a plastic vat. That is probably due to the need to reduce the price to keep the machine affordable. Although it’s hard to say which is better, be it a plastic or metal vat, that’s up to personal preferences. The only downside is that, like many other 3D printers, the vat lacks pouring aid, which can come in handy.
Pros
- The great new design colors. It’s refreshing to see a color other than red and orange in most of Mars’ printers.
- excellent print quality and quick curing Mars 2 performed well and are exceptional for its price range.
- The bigger 6.08-inch monochrome LCD, which offers 2k, is great when it comes to printing.
Cons
- This model, unlike the previous one. Can be difficult to use for beginners in 3D printing.
- As I said, the vat misses pouring aid features, which is a minus.
- Like the previous ones, this model also has no Wi-fi connectivity.

Conclusion
In general, Mars 2 is a great 3D printer. It offers the usual high-quality prints like the other machines from the Mars series. The main difference is the high curing speed. The build volume is slightly bigger, which is good. The design is the main point in my opinion. It differs in its colors from the previous versions. The size is still compact enough to be put on a desk. The machine itself has good improvements from the other Mars 3D printers. Mars 2 still has a long way to go. Especially with the lack of Wi-fi connectivity. In the end, it is a great machine for its price range.
